The remit of the Open Museum, to take objects out into the community and work with those who might not otherwise visit a traditional museum, is revealed here, as the museum celebrates its first 20 years of existence. Sampling some of the projects that have contributed to its success, the passion of the staff and project participants is the focus of this fabulously illustrated book. It offers insights into the thinking behind the museum, and reveals the many challenges which were overcome along the way.
