Haunted Places of Scotland is an illustrated alphabetical gazetteer, detailing more than 650 haunted sites (indeed, more than 800 tales as many places have more than one spooky story or bogle) from all over Scotland. Sites include castles, stately homes, historic houses, abbeys and churches, hotels, inns and public houses, hospitals, theatres, jails and court houses, and many more.

The first edition of Haunted Places was published in 1999, reprinted in 2000, and quickly sold out. This second edition is a greatly expanded and updated edition, covering more than 650 sites (the first edition had 330 sites) and some 800 stories. Features are a list of sites at which paranormal investigations have been undertaken, an index by haunting and an area index so that all hauntings in a city or district can be identified, a list of ghost tours, plus a full index and further reading.
