Alan Whitfield developed inter-island air services in the Shetland Islands from the late 1960s. Here, he records the end of Loganair's 37-year tenure on services to the offshore islands of Shetland, while adding insights to his flying career in Canada, Cumbria, the Western Isles, and with Perthshire-based Strathair.
