Learn to Learn came about as a result of feedback from parents and colleagues who wanted something to help them give support with study and learning. It is aimed at secondary pupils, students returning to learning and parents/carers.
Much of the material has been developed, trialled and evaluated in the classroom. It is in a format which is easy to read and use and has 'Look out For', 'Study Support' (family and friends help suggestions) and 'Task Features'.

About the Author
Shona Cochrane is currently a Principal Teacher of Guidance at Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline, Fife. She started her teaching career in Inner London before working in Malaysia and finally settling in Fife.

In 2003 she had a two year secondment to ‘Careers Scotland’ (now Skills Development Scotland) initially as an ‘Enterprise in Education Adviser’ then as ‘National Curriculum Adviser’.

2005 saw Shona complete a second degree; an M.Ed Pupil Support (Guidance) from Edinburgh University.

Over the last few years, Shona has been investigating learning and study skills and this has led to the publication of Learn to Learn and the implementations of a comprehensive, cross-curricular skills based programme embedded in secondary education based on the simple learning process; Review – Remember – Recall.

The Learn to Learn programme is still evolving with the latest focus on key words and reflective thinking.
