Peace Roots

"Peace Roots" is Atisha McGregor Auld's first poetry book and the wide ranging content reflects her life in the Highlands, a passion for nature and her love of the elemental way of life. This anthology was written whilst she lived in Wester Ross and contains seventy poems, three of which are translated into the Gaelic and one into Latin. She touches on St. Kilda whilst depicting both Auld Reekie and Glasgow through imaginative and interesting eyes. There is a delightful cover illustration of Baosbheinn (875m) by a notable, local artist and a majestic, roaring stag leads you through the book. This is a fleeting visit to the West Indies, experienced through the poem "Caribbee", and portrays the sense of rhythm found in the Caribbean Islands.
