Twenty-one different Gaelic authors are featured, each with a new short story. The range of themes and styles reflects the diverse nature of contemporary Gaelic fiction. Established writers including Alasdair Campbell (Alasdair a' Bhocsair), Martin MacIntyre and Catriona Lexy Campbell compliment exciting emerging authors including Màiri E MacLeod and Alison Lang. Debut authors also feature strongly, and Gaelic's international dimension is reflected through stories from Germany, the United States and Japan.

The stories in this new collection are varied and vibrant. There are examples of science fiction and social realism, the supernatural and the everyday, the beautiful and the tragic. Subjects explored and touched upon include love, death, nature, technology, religion, culture, race, money, art, prejudice and war. The styles and structures of the stories are diverse too. Together, they provide a unique snapshot of contemporary Gaelic writing.
