Unaddressed

This report explores the transitions to independent living for young people with disabilities in relation to housing. It documents the views of people aged 17- to 25-years old who have learning disabilities or physical impairments and also examines their parents' views.The report considers three core issues: what forms of housing are preferred (including housing type, location, tenure and household preferences); the expectations young disabled people have of housing provision; and the steps, if any, which have been taken to change their current housing situation. "Unaddressed" outlines the specific housing needs of young disabled people who are trying to make the transition to independent living, and makes recommendations for improving existing housing services.
