Walking Through Scotland's History

Covering two thousand years on foot, this is a unique look at the history of pedestrian activity in Scotland. Mitchell begins with the Roman legions, early Christian missionaries, and takes in Jacobite and Hanovarian armies, mapmakers, cattle drovers, English tourists, reivers and distillers, fishwives, seasonal workers, town and city walkers, and life-long travelling people.
