Summer Short Story Competition

To celebrate the launch of the website, we are launching a short story competition. The first prize is publication on the site plus £100 of books, which the winner may choose from the site. The runner-up will have his/her story published on the site. The story can be on any theme.

How to Enter

Please send in your story of no longer than 2500 words. Your name should not appear on the story but on a separate sheet of paper as the competition will be judged anonymously. Include your name, address, and a daytime telephone contact number on that separate sheet.

Terms and conditions

  1. Only one entry per household will be accepted.
  2. Stories should be a maximum of 2,500 words
  3. Stories should not have been published elsewhere.
  4. No copies or disks will be returned and no correspondence entered into.
  5. The competition will be judged by three judges.
  6. The closing date for all entries is 30 June 2006 and winners will be announced on the site in July 2006.
  7. BooksfromScotland.com reserves the right to publish the story on the website.
