Edinburgh Festival - Children's Choice

3.00pm - In collaboration with BRAW, the network for the Scottish Children's Book, Simon Puttock (author of Little List Cowboy) and Natalie Russell (Hamish The Highland Cow) need your help in retelling The Was An Old Woman Who Swallowed A Fly.

3.30pm - Come and hear about Little Mouse and Big Mouse from Diana Hendry's wonderful The Very Noisy Night and The Very Busy Day. Bring a shoebox to make your very own mouse house.

4.30pm - Follow the footsteps of Edinburgh's favourite cat, as Aileen Paterson takes you on a magical Maisie tour.

10.00am and 11.00am - A selection of Scots rhymes and songs for babies, including Ally Bally and Katie Bairdie.

4.30 - Come dressed as your favourite character from Julia Donaldson's Charlie Cook's Favourite Book - and bring your singing voice!

10.00 - Fun and mayhem with Debi Gliori as she brings us another day in the life of the strange and delightful Strega-Borgias family.

2.00pm - From the author of Akimbo and the Lions comes a new story. Akimbo loves all the animals of his father's game reserve - except the snakes. So what happens when Akimbo visit's his uncle's snake farm?

3.00pm - More gripping adventures from the author of The Seven Professors of the Far North. Sam and Marcia are back in Edinburgh, but it is not long before a clue leads them to a long-lost secret invention - and to a dangerous struggle in the skies above Edinburgh.

4.30pm - How do you create a picture book? Help create a story and see it come to life before your eyes with authors and illustrators Ross Collins (The Elephantom) and Vivian French (The Three-Legged Mummy).

11.00am - Reading Champion Linda Strachan, whose latest book is a retelling of the classic Greyfriars Bobby, will be telling stories.

1.30 - Join author Linda Strachan and illustrator Sally J Collins for some magical tales of Hamish McHaggis and his friends. Learn some Scots phrases and draw your very own Hamish.

2.30pm - Join Andrew Wolffe, creator of the delightful Rory Stories, for some fun stories and colouring in.
