To celebrate the launch of his latest novel The Pure Land, the University of Aberdeen's Writer's Festival will be hosting a special reading and wine reception with Alan Spence. The Pure Land tells the story of Thomas Glover - the Aberdonian who made his life and name in Japan, founding the Mitsubishi company and inspiring the tale of Madame Butterfly.
