Most Borrowed Books in Scotland 2009/2010
The Public Lending Right organisation has compiled a list of the most borrowed books in Scottish libraries over 2009/2010. Scottish authors and publishers make a rather poor showing, with only crime writer Ian Rankin appearing more than once. In fact, crime writing dominates the list. The only Scottish publisher on the list is HarperCollins, an international company with Scottish roots and a large operation in Glasgow.
