Scottish Success on 2006 Booker Longlist
The 2006 Man Booker Prize longlist was announced today. 19 novels have been selected by the five person judging panel. Scottish successes this year are James Robertson, for his novel The Testament of Gideon Mack, and Andrew O'Hagan, for Be Near Me.
Success also for Scottish publisher's Canongate, who are publishing two further longlist entries. Maria Hyland's Carry Me Down and Kate Grenville's The Secret River are both published by the Edinburgh-based company.
