British Book Awards 2007
Two Scottish writers were amongst the winners of the 2007 Galaxy British Book Awards, popularly known as the 'nibbies'. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on Channel 4 on 30th March.
- Ian Rankin's latest Inspector Rebus novel The Naming of the Dead won the BCA Crime Thriller of the Year Award
- Jackie Kay won the deciBel Writer of the Year Award for her collection Wish I Was Here. The deciBel prize is awarded to writers of African, Asian or Caribbean descent.

- Jane Harris was nominated for the Waterstone's Newcomer of the Year award for her novel The Observations
- Alan Brazil's biography There's An Awful Lot of Bubbly in Brazil was nominated for the Tesco Sports Book of the Year award
