Edwin Morgan International Poetry Competition
Vital Synz, Glasgow's newest poetry society, has launched the Edwin Morgan International Poetry Competition, named in honour of Edwin Morgan, Scotland's first national poet: The Scots Makar. With a first prize of £5000 this will be one of the richest poetry prizes in the world and will attract entrants from many different countries and the first prizegiving ceremony and reading of the competition will be held in association with the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
The competition will be judged by Colette Bryce, Donny O'Rourke and Richard Price (Greenfields and Lucky Day).
Four prices will be awarded:
- First prize of £5,000
- Second prize of £1,000
- Third prize of £500
- Two runners-up will win £50 each
