The Kelpies Prize was set up in 2004 to encourage and reward new Scottish writing for children. Winning authors receive a £2,000 cash prize and have their novel published in the Contemporary Kelpies series of books.

How To Enter the Kelpies Prize 2009
Have you got a brilliant story, set wholly, or mainly, in contemporary Scotland and suitable for boys and girls aged 9-12? If so, you could win £2,000 and have your book published in the Kelpies Series.
The deadline for submissions to the Kelpies Prize 2009 is 28th February 2009. For more details and an entry form go to http://www.florisbooks.co.uk/kelpiesprize or call 0131 337 2372.
Manuscripts must be between 40,000 and 60,000 words. Authors do not need to live in Scotland to qualify.
