David Balfour’s coming-of-age adventure in the wilds of Scotland is among Edinburgh writer Robert Louis Stevenson’s best-loved works. Writer and director Donald Smith has turned Stevenson’s 1886 novel into an energetic, action-packed 45 minutes of storytelling theatre.

The Scottish Storytelling Centre’s production strikes a chord with a wide audience in its re-tells the adventure of the young Davie Balfour as he sets out to seek his fortune – in the days when kilts were banned.
