Dundee Literary Festival 2008
The 2008 Dundee Literary Festival runs from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd June. This is the second year of the festival, and Scottish authors attending include Douglas Dunn, William Boyd and James Kelman.
Thursday 19th June
- 1pm - Poem and a Piece with Douglas Dunn
- 3pm - Novelist and commentator William Boyd is being awarded an honorary degree from the University of Dundee. He will be discussing his most recent novel, Restless
- 4pm - Kate Muir's latest novel, West Coast, moves from the Hebrides to London
- 7.30pm - Headlining the festival is Ian Rankin, who will be discussing Rebus's last appearance in Exit Music, plus Rankin's new novel Doors Open
Friday 20th June
- 10am - Creative writing workshop with Kirsty Gunn
- 1pm - Poem and a Piece with Glasgow poet Peter Manson
- 2pm - James Kelman's latest novel is Kieron Smith, Boy
Saturday 21st June
- 12noon - David Robinson, the literary editor of The Scotsman, will be discussing In Cold Ink
- 1pm - Poem and a Piece with James Stewart
- 2pm - Scottish women and crime with Lin Anderson, Aline Templeton and Karen Campbell
- 5pm, at Borders Bookstore - An evening of music, readings and literature. A free event with Doug Johnstone and Rodge Glass
Sunday 22nd June
- 12noon - Garden Plants for Scotland was written by Raoul Curtis-Machin and gardener Ken Cox
- 1pm - Prose and a Piece with Andrew Murray Scott's latest novel The Big J
