Pitlochry Winter Words Festival 2009

Pitlochry Festival Theatre

Winter Words, Pitlochry's festival of writing, is five years old in 2009, and their programme is a celebration of this anniversary. Authors and personalities from Scotland and elsewhere in the UK will be appearing.

Scottish names to look out for include:

  • Cover scan of Eat Well With Nell
Eat Well With Nell: Food To Make You Feel Good - Nell Nelson - Paperback
'Eat Well With Nell' provides you with plenty of recipes and ideas to combat every health niggle you might have - and you don't even have to give up chocolate
  • Cover scan of The Long Delirious Burning Blue
The Long Delirious Burning Blue - Sharon Blackie - Paperback
Two very different women, sharing a troubled past and an equally troubled relationship. An honest and moving exploration of the complexities of mother-daughter relationships, this novel is above all a story of courage, endurance and transformation.
  • Cover scan of Romanno Bridge
Romanno Bridge - Andrew Greig - Paperback
'Romanno Bridge' is a new adventure from the acclaimed novelist and poet Andrew Greig. The hunt for the crowning stone of the Dalriadic kings, Jacob's Pillow, the Stone of Scone - whatever it is, it is worth enough to make life cheap for some and dear for others - has begun.

There will also be How-To workshops for would-be writers, and a Burns celebration. A writing competition, Fearie Tales Writing Competition, is looking for spooky stories, and a book fair will be held each day.
