As part of The Word's Out! Festival AK Bell library are hosting a number of writer's workshops with some of Scotland's leading authors. Each workshop is limited to 15 people so booking through the AK Bell Library shop on 01738 477016 is essential.

• 11am-1pm - Radio Drama Workshop with Linda Cracknell. How to convey characters and storylines through sound, dialogue and structure
• 11am-1pm - Crime Workshop with Alex Gray. Beginning a crime novel
• 2-4pm - Short Story Workshop with Laura Hird. Developing ideas for characterisation, plot and narrative. New and aspiring writers welcome.
• 2-4pm - Poetry Workshop with Anne MacLeod. Developing and sustaining your own individual poetic voice.
• 4.30-5.30pm - Getting Published. Advice for poets from Patricia Ace and fiction writers from Gavin MacDougall of Luath Press

The evening will finish with an open mic night for short stories and poems. 8pm in the Cafè.
