John Chalmers, author of Audubon in Edinburgh and His Scottish Associates, recounts the Scottish experiences of the great American wildlife artist.

In his talk, Chalmers paints a vivid depiction of the social, scientific and creative world of early 19th century Edinburgh, and introduces us to some of the figures of the Scottish Enlightenment which helped shape John James Audubon's masterpiece, Birds of America.

This is the same event as the tallk at the National Library of Scotland on 2nd August.
