The Poetry Tour, or Cuairt nam Bàrd as it is known, first began in 1971, and since then every spring a group of Scottish poets, singers and musicians has traveled to Ireland, while the Irish make the return journey each autumn. The tour consists of a series of readings held in different locations each night, and involve local poets, musicians and singers performing alongside the visiting group.
Poets and musicians appearing this year are:
- Gabriel Rosenstock – Bàrd/File/Poet
- Simon Ó Faoláin – Bàrd/File/Poet
- Áine Uí Cheallaigh – Seinneadair/Amhránaí/Singer
- Cormac De Barra – Fear-ciùil/Ceoltóir/Musician
They will be joined by local artists at each venue.
- Tuesday 25th September: The Ceilidh Place, Ullapool
- Wednesday 26th: Mrytle Bank Hotel, Gairloch
- Thursday 27th: Tingle Creek Hotel, Erbusaig, near Plockton
