Writing for Children Course: Keeping Young Readers Hooked

How do you grab a young reader’s attention and then make sure it stays grabbed? Whether you want to write picture books for the very young, longer fiction for teens, or something in between, this course will be an opportunity to discover, develop and sharpen your writing skills. Suitable for dabblers and would-be-dabblers alike. This course is being tutored by:

Jonathan Meres - Jonathan Meres has turned his Yo! Diary! into a CBBC series. He writes children's TV and radio. Other fiction includes Clone Zone. As a stand-up comic he was nominated for the Perrier Award and won the Timeout Award for comedy.

Bashabi Fraser - Bashabi Fraser's children;s books include Topsy Turvy, and Just One Diwali Night. She edited Rainbow World, a collection of children's poetry (Hodder & Stoughton), and her stories have been widely anthologised.

Course Guest: John Ward has published a trilogy of novels for young adults, titled The Fate of the Stone (Davies Publishing).
