Kenetic Poetry: Words on the Move
Words on the Move is an exciting chance for Dumfries and Galloway writers to work with Scottish animators create kinetic poems for the web. Up to ten poems will be animated and published on the DGAA website and other poetry outlets, inspired by a specially commissioned kinetic work from one of Scotland's foremost poets, Tom Leonard.
What's a kinetic poem? Words that move! You write a poem, and animators will work their magic to turn it into a small film made entirely of words. There are lots of examples of this lively new art form on the internet - visit the demonstration site http://www.dgaaweb.net/ for inspiration and full information.
There will be four introductory sessions held in the region:
- Monday 18th Feb - 7pm - Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries
- Wednesday 20th Feb - 10.30am - Newton Stewart Library
- Monday 3rd March - 7pm - Lockerbie Library
- Tuesday 4th March - 10am - GU Crichton Campus
To book a place on one of the introductory workshops contact Andrew Forster on 01387 253383 or andrew@dgaa.net . Poems must be submitted by Friday 28th March 2008.
