Off The Page - Stirling Book Festival

The third annual off the page Book Festival runs from the 13th to the 20th September. The full programme is available from the Stirling Council website; Scottish authors and events are listed below. Events are held in number of venues including the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, and libraries around Stirling and Bridge of Allan.

Monday 15th September

Tuesday 16th September

  • 10.30am - Ruth Kirkpatrick - A storyteller from the north-east of Scotland
  • 12noon - Richard H Roberts - discussing the literature, poetry and religion of Scotland
  • 7.30pm - Marista Leishman - will be talking about her father, Reith of the BBC
  • 7.30pm - Jess Smith - the storyteller will be talking about her autobiographical books and her forthcoming short story collection

Thursday 18th September

  • 2pm - Cathy Cassidy - the children's author will talk about her writing and her most recent book Ginger Snaps
  • 7pm - An evening with Janet Paisley - an evening with the author of White Rose Rebel, presented by the Bannockburn Study Group
  • 7.30pm - Val McDermid - Crime writer McDermid's latest novel, A Darker Domain, is set mainly in Fife and will be published in September
  • 7.30pm - PJG Ransom - Local historian and author PJG Ransom will be talking about the railways of Scotland and his book The Iron Road
