Aberdeenshire
The city of Aberdeen, the 'Granite City', lies on the north-east coast of Scotland. Aberdeen is Scotland's major oil port; along the coast lie pretty fishing villages and empty beaches. Further inland from the Aberdeenshire coast, in Huntly and Royal Deeside, lies the 'Castle Trail', home to many castles and stately homes.
