The Jacobite Risings

Our Jacobite fiction lists span from approximately 1688 to 1746, and features books about the "Young Pretender" Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Battle of Culloden, stories of the The Fifteen and The Forty-Five, and King James II and VII. One of the classic 'Jacobite novels' is Robert Louis Stevenson's Kidnapped, which is actually set a little later, in 1751, and of course Sir Walter Scott's Waverley. We also include Scott's Redgauntlet, which tells the story of a fictional 1765 Jacobite rebellion.

There is a list of all editions of Kidnapped at the end of this page.
